We are focus on continuous improvement in order to obtain the highest level of performance as a global service provider.

RB Intermodal has implemented Total Quality Management using a comprehensive and structured approach to organizational management that seeks to improve the quality of products and services through ongoing refinements in response to continuous feedback. Our requirements are defined in adherence to established standards, such as ISO 9001 (scope: Intermodal transport).

All operators at the RB Intermodal warehouses work according to the 5S organisation method. By this means we aim to achieve a well organized work space and efficiency and effectiveness by identifying and storing the items used, maintaining the area and items, and sustaining the new order. The decision-making process usually comes from a dialogue about standardization, which builds understanding among employees of how they should do the work.

SQAS (Safety & Quality Assessment System)

RB Intermodal is assessed every 3 years in SQAS. SQAS is a system to evaluate the quality, safety, security and environmental performance of Logistics Service Providers and Chemical Distributors in a uniform manner by single standardised assessments carried out by independent assessors using a standard questionnairre. A SQAS assessment does not lead to a certificate, like for example ISO 9001 or GMP+, but offers a detailed factual report which each chemical company needs to evaluate according to its own requirements. You can download our most recent assessment report here. RB Intermodal achieved a 96% score during our most recent assessment in 2015.

ISO 9001:2015

The latest edition of ISO 9001, ISO's flagship quality management systems standard, has just been published. This concludes over three years of revision work by experts from nearly 95 participating and observing countries to bring the standard up to date with modern needs.

With over 1.1 million certificates issued worldwide, ISO 9001 helps RB Intermodal demonstrate to customers that they can offer products and services of consistently good quality. It also acts as a tool to streamline our processes and make us more efficient at what we do. Acting ISO The 2015 edition features import changes. The earlier versions of ISO 9001 were quite prescriptive, with many requirements for documented procedures and records. In the 2000 and 2008 editions, the focus was more on managing processes, and less on documentation.

It has now gone a step further, and ISO 9001:2015 is even less prescriptive than its predecessor, focusing instead on performance. This was achieved by combining the process approach with risk-based thinking, and employing the Plan-Do-Check-Act cycle at all levels in the organization.

The world has changed, and this 2015 revision was needed to reflect this. Technology is driving increased expectations from our customers. Barriers to trade have dropped due to lower tariffs, but also because of strategic instruments like International Standards. We are seeing a trend towards more complex global supply chains that demand integrated action. So our organizations needs to perform in new ways, and our quality management standards needs to keep up with these expectations. We believe that the 2015 edition of ISO 9001 can help them achieve this. You can download our most recent ISO 9001 certificate here.

GMP+ Feed Certification Scheme

GMP+ Feed Certification Scheme

GMP stands for Good Manufacturing Practices. In 1992 the current GMP+ Feed Certification scheme started out with this. Afterwards, it developed into a full-fledged certification scheme by integrating ISO quality management requirements, HACCP and other elements.

The + stands for the integration of HACCP: ‘Hazards Analysis and Critical Control Points’. The foundation of the GMP+ systematic is partly determined by continuous improvement according to the principle of the Deming circle ‘Plan, Do, Check, Act’: write down what I’m doing, do what I’ve written down and providing proof that I effectively did it.

The GMP+ Feed Certification for RB Intermodal focusses on transport procedures, documentation etc. Together with her partners, GMP+ international transparently defines clear conditions, so that feed safety and sustainability are guaranteed and certification bodies can conduct independent audits. GMP+ certified companies are supported with useful and practical information, such as various databases, newsletters, Q&A lists, courses and seminars.

With over 13,400 participating companies in more than 70 countries, GMP+ International is a leading global player in feed safety assurance certification. A quality mark of GMP+ International tells you, the entrepreneur, that participating companies from the international food chain guarantee reliability, quality, sustainability and safety. That means that they meet all local and international statutory standards in the feed industry. You can download our most recent GMP+ certificate here.
